For the last few years people have told us that social networks are the answer to all marketing and advertisements in the future. This is not all true. The house hold brands of Social Media’s like : Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. have been somewhat misrepresented and misused. These platforms have been a medium for exchange of photos, sharing personal achievements or losses, dating, seeking jobs or potential employees, buy and sell commodity products etc.
For over the last couple of years we have been updating Vantage Agoras public social networks like (LinkedIn, Facebook Twitter, etc.) with minimal results. We have made good progress at VA during this time (TATA (TBSS) a 11,000 people company has selected Club VA to deliver operational excellence, PES (A university with over 18000 students) is using Club VA for result based learning) with very few people noticing the progress.
To fix this problem we went back to the drawing board. We asked ourselves who we wanted to reach.
At the end the answers seemed obvious.
- We created a list of people that we called VA influencers
- We sent them targeted updates
- The results were fantastic!
We did all this on Club VA.
Social Networks don’t do well if your business target group is people in executive leadership. Leaders of this age group are simply not as active on the social networks even if they have an account. They are looking for direct ‘1 on 1’ communication. You do that, and you will get their attention.
